Alabama Department of Revenue Announces Change in Tax Payment Processing

The Alabama Department of Revenue is changing banks, affecting how taxes are paid through My Alabama Taxes using accounts that employ a debit block requiring an Originating Company ID (debit block code) for ACH debits. Before January 31, 2024, individuals using such accounts must provide an additional debit block code, “MAT6045055,” to their bank or financial institution.

It’s crucial not to remove the current Originating Company ID, “ADORCCD000,” until after January 31, 2024, to prevent payment failures for transactions made before that date. Additionally, there’s another Originating Company ID, “2621862182,” specifically for local motor fuel taxes and certain local taxes filed through My Alabama Taxes/Single Point/ONE SPOT, which should not be removed as this code remains unchanged.

This change aims to ensure uninterrupted processing of future tax payments. Individuals unsure if their bank or financial institution account utilizes a debit block should contact them directly to verify. For further clarification or inquiries about this change, individuals can reach out to ALDOR’s Taxpayer Assistance Group at 334-353-8096.(Notice: My Alabama Taxes Debit Block Code to Change by End of January 2024, Alabama Department of Revenue, December 5, 2023)
