Arizona to Discontinue Mailing of Paper TPT Returns

Effective February 1, 2021, the Arizona Department of Revenue (DOR) will discontinue mailing of paper Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) returns to taxpayers. Taxpayers who currently receive a pre-populated Form TPT-EZ via the mail can either file and pay www.aztaxes.gov or print the form at www.azdor.gov. Failure to receive a form from the DOR does not relieve a business from filing and reporting TPT. The Arizona DOR is sending notices with future Form TPT-EZ mailings to inform affected taxpayers of the change. Only $500 of annual TPT or use tax liability during the prior calendar year is enough to require businesses to file and pay electronically starting February 2021 for the January period. Taxpayers who normally receive paper TPT forms should take action now to register for online filing to be certain they have a process in place prior to February 2021 which will enable them to ensure that they continue filing and paying TPT in a timely manner.
