Arkansas Decreases General Sales and Use Tax Rate for Food

Arkansas has decreased its general sales and use tax rate on food to 0.125%, effective January 1, 2019. The previous rate was 1.500%. In Arkansas, a reduced state sales and use tax rate is imposed on eligible food and food ingredients. Sales tax on prepared food will remain at the higher state and local rate.
