City and Borough of Sitka, Alaska Reinstates Seasonal Sales Tax

The Alaska Remote Seller Sales Tax Commission sent an email on February 22, 2024 indicating that the City and Borough of Sitka, Alaska has reinstated their seasonal sales tax effective April 1, 2024 on the following schedule:

• For April 1 to September 30, the sales tax rate is 6%
• For October 1 to March 31, the sales tax rate is 5%

Affected sellers should make the necessary updates to their systems to accommodate the seasonal sales tax rate beginning April 1, 2024.
