Oklahoma Exempts Certain Advertising From Sales Tax

On June 6, 2005, the State of Oklahoma enacted House Bill 1547. The law exempts the sale of advertising space in newspapers, periodicals, and on indoor or outdoor billboards or posters. The exemption also applies to advertising in sports and entertainment event programs. Finally, the statute exempts any advertising on the Internet or through electronic devices, such as radio, television, cable, satellite, and the public broadcast system. (2005 OK H1547)
