West Virginia Provides Updated Guidance for Voluntary Disclosure Agreements

The West Virginia Department of Revenue has provided updated guidance regarding the state’s voluntary disclosure agreement (VDA) process. The VDA process offers qualified businesses an opportunity to get into compliance with West Virginia tax laws while waiving civil or criminal penalties and prosecution. Utilizing a VDA can save businesses financially by reducing or even eliminating penalties for late filing and remittance of taxes such as sales tax. The guidance has been revised to reflect updated contact information for submitting requests for VDAs. Businesses and individuals can email their VDA request to [email protected]. Alternately, requests can be mailed to:

West Virginia State Tax Department
Compliance Division
P.O. Box 229
Charleston, WV 25321-0229
