Illinois Certain Vehicles Used for Renting Purposes No Longer Exempt

Certain vehicles used for renting purposes are now subject to sales taxes when purchased in Illinois. The law that was repealed effects vehicles that are self-contained, created to provide living space used for recreational, camping, or travel use that also provides an open walkway from the driver’s seat to the living area, and vans that are created for transporting more than seven people, but less than sixteen.
