California Tax Relief for Taxpayers in Humboldt County Directly Affected Earthquake

In response to a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that struck Northern California on Dec 20,2022, the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) has announced relief measures for taxpayers who were affected. Taxpayers will be able to request an extension of up to three months to pay taxes or fees as well as having penalties and interest waived. Applications for extensions or relief can be submitted online through the CDTFA website or by submitting form CDTFA-735 Further, any taxpayers who lost records due to the disaster are able to receive free replacement documents, which can be requested by calling the CDTFA.
