Purpose of Role:
YETTER Tax and Sales Tax Institute, a leading provider of sales tax training and consulting services, is seeking a talented Content Writing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating compelling, informative, and engaging content that aligns with our brand’s voice and supports our mission to educate and inform clients about sales tax compliance and strategies. This position will focus on the following:
- Develop high-quality content that educates and engages our audience on various sales tax topics
- Support marketing and communication strategies with effective content creation
- Create course materials for our Sales Tax Institute classes as well as external presentations
- Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and aligns with the company’s standards and objectives
- Enhance the company’s online presence and brand reputation through consistent and professional content
Essential Job Responsibilities (approximate % of time):
Content creation and management 60%:
- Write, edit, and proofread content for various platforms including blogs, speeches, articles, whitepapers, newsletters, social media posts, and website pages. This also includes content for our live virtual, live in-person and on-demand classes.
- Content Calendar Management: Maintain and manage a content calendar to ensure timely delivery of content projects.
- Brand Voice: Ensure all content is consistent with the company’s tone and style guidelines.
- SEO: Implement SEO best practices to improve content visibility and search engine rankings.
- Collaborate: Work closely with the marketing team, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to develop and refine content strategies.
- Conduct thorough research on sales tax topics to ensure content is up-to-date and authoritative.
- Compliance: Stay informed about industry trends and changes in sales tax laws to ensure content remains relevant and compliant.
Admin 10%:
- Other internal projects and assignments as needed to support consultants and Sales Tax Institute projects
- Internal meetings and activities
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years technical content writing experience (accounting or finance industries required and state tax/sales tax preferred)
- Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing or similar (Journalism, Creative Writing, etc)
- Writing: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills; ability to read and then translate complex topics into clear, engaging, and accessible content.
- Marketing Software: Proficiency in content management systems (WordPress), and social media platforms.
- SEO: Understanding of SEO and content marketing principles.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Technology: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) SharePoint, and Google applications (Drive, Sheets, Docs); comfortable learning new technology.
- Research: Exceptional research skills utilizing research databases, industry websites, and other research tools.
- Attention to detail/Accuracy: Excellent attention to detail; commitment to accuracy.
- Organization/Multi-tasking/Independency: Strong organizational and documentation skills, ability to multitask, and able to work independently.
