For periods beginning on and after October 1, 2027, the District of Columbia is increasing its general sales tax rate on gross receipts from the sale of or charges for tangible personal property, digital goods and taxable services to 7%. The general sales tax rate remains 6% through September 30, 2027. Note that this sales tax increase was delayed from an original date of October 1, 2025.
