Los Angeles Offers Tax Amnesty Program on Numerous Taxes

The Los Angeles Office of Finance is administering a Tax Penalty Amnesty Program from October 1, 2020 to December 17, 2020. The program is available to both registered and unregistered businesses and provides a voluntary opportunity to pay any outstanding principal, interest and fees owed to Los Angeles and avoid penalties for up to 40% of taxes due. The following taxes are eligible for the amnesty program:

  • Business Taxes
  • Communications Users Taxes
  • Transient Occupancy Taxes
  • Parking Occupancy Taxes
  • Electricity Users Taxes
  • Gas Users Taxes
  • Commercial Tenant’s Taxes

Businesses may apply to participate in the amnesty program either online or via mail and if they do so, must pay all outstanding principal, interest and fees.
