The Michigan Attorney General has issued a consumer alert warning taxpayers of a scam that involves a company offering sales tax application processing. An online company, Sales Tax Application Organization, claims that taxpayers can apply for state sales tax numbers for a fee and personal information. Per the consumer alert, reports indicate that no service will be provided and your money will be gone.
