New York Places Restrictions on Contracts.

Under New York’s new budget package, contracts can be rendered invalid if a contractor is not registered for sales and use tax purposes. If a contractor or subcontractor makes sales deliveries of taxable services or tangible personal property by any means to New York locations, they must be properly registered with the state. If the contract’s value is over $300,000 and the contractor is not registered, the contract would not be valid. (New York Item #S.8)
