Puerto Rico Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla has signed legislation that increases the commonwealth’s sales tax. Effective July 1, 2015, Puerto Rico’s sales tax rate (currently 7%) increases to 11.5%. Later this year a tax on professional services will be implemented.
