Washington extends ban on local taxation of Internet service providers.

Effective June 10, 2004, a city or town may not impose any new taxes or fees specific to Internet service providers until July 1, 2006 (formerly July 1, 2004). They may tax at a rate not to exceed the rate applied to businesses that are classified as general services providers. (SB 6259, Laws 2004, effective June 10, 2004)
