Starting September 29, 2026, businesses are no longer able to use the SUTS bulk spreadsheet upload feature to validate large volumes of addresses. According to the Department Of Revenue (DOR), demand for the tool far surpassed expectations, as usage significantly exceeded the funding levels established under House Bill 23-1017. While the program was funded for up to 75 million lookups per fiscal year, usage reached 136.5 million lookups in FY 2025–26 and exceeded 50 million lookups during the first three months of FY 2026–27.

The DOR plans to reactivate the bulk address lookup feature on January 1, 2027, in a managed capacity to coincide with local sales tax rate and boundary updates.
Businesses that rely on bulk address validation for tax determination, ERP integrations, tax engines, or customer onboarding processes should prepare for the temporary interruption and evaluate alternative methods for validating Colorado sales tax jurisdictions during the pause. Organizations can continue using the free single-address GIS lookup tool for individual address verification. (Colorado Department of Revenue, SUTS Information Page (Sept. 25, 2026))
