The District of Columbia Exempts At-Home COVID Tests from Sales Tax

Beginning on January 24, 2022, the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue exempts at-home COVID-19 tests from the District’s sales and use tax. This means that all retail businesses selling the at-home COVID-19 tests are responsible for no longer collecting sales tax on these items.
