Utah to Increase State Sales Tax Rate

Utah will increase its state sales tax rate to 4.85% on April 1, 2019. The current rate is 4.7%. Utah voters approved the statewide sales tax increase in November of 2018.

Businesses will begin reporting and paying the new rate with the following periods:

  • April 2019 (monthly filers)
  • April-June 2019 (quarterly filers)
  • January-December 2019 (annual filers)
