Virginia’s sales and use tax exemption for retail sales of gold, silver, and platinum bullion and legal tender coins that was set to expire June 30, 2022, has now been extended. Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed the bill into law to extend the sunset date to June 30, 2025. Purchases must be over $1,000 to be eligible for the exemption. (State of Virginia, H.B. 3, effective immediately)
