In a field directly related to the law, we are bound to come across ethical dilemmas. What is best for our client’s business vs. our business and what is most closely in accordance with the law? With decades of experience between our team members, we’ve encountered plenty of these tricky situations and learned how to handle them. In our Basics of Sales and Use Tax course, we include a session on ethics so that our students can kick off their sales tax career with that in mind.

As advisors and educators, we practice what we preach. All employees participate in continued education. We ensure we’re up to date on the latest industry knowledge (whether that is sales tax, marketing, practice management or technology) and always share with our team. Additionally, we engage in team and culture building using the IEP Method and through our book club.

We created the Sales Tax Nerd Community as an act of devotion to our most dedicated students. In a company-wide Slack channel, we share daily tips about mental and physical health to encourage our personal well-being. We get together for weekly stretch breaks to ensure we’re implementing healthy habits. And in every staff meeting, we start by checking in on everyone’s emotional and physical health. We encourage our team to be true to their emotions and even understand that tears are okay! From fostering a supportive work environment to promoting a healthy work-life balance, we are committed to ensuring that our team members are empowered to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional health.
