Americo is a Senior Tax Manager at FGMK, a professional services firm. He kicked off his sales tax career out of college working at a Big 4 firm. Since then, he’s always worked in public accounting, specifically sales tax. Having transitioned from compliance to consulting, Americo has made a remarkable career in the field. He’s especially passionate about working with mergers and acquisitions because he gets to dig into each company to find all the little details that may lead to sales tax savings or obligations.

Katherine Martinez
Katherine works as a Strategy Research Specialist for Stripe, a payment processing platform, where she works closely with engineers to build every state’s report from scratch. She has a unique skillset as she originally worked as a Tax Compliance Officer for a state comptroller and now uses those skills from working for the state in her new position. Katherine’s passion for sales tax shows through the most when she spreads her knowledge; whether that is teaching sales tax to a class of second graders or helping business owners on the border of New Mexico and Mexico understand the concept of sales tax and helps set up their systems.

Erik Wallin is a Regulatory General Counsel in the Sovos Regulatory Analysis and Design Department and has been working there for over 10 years. He focuses his work on U.S. transaction tax law which includes special expertise in the taxation of technology and the taxation mechanisms that apply throughout the Colorado home rule jurisdictions.

Nathan Yoder
Nathan Yoder is the CAS Sales Tax Specialist at Adams Brown, LLC. Nathan started out managing sales tax simply because it had to be done, but the more he did it the more he enjoyed the numbers aspect of it. Once he realized a sales tax expert was a need for his company and that he had fun doing it, he saw a passion worth pursuing. With a growing team, Nathan has taken on the responsibility of creating materials to educate his team on the complexities of sales tax.
